An SLK R171 with lots of toys and a Golf Plus for fishing.
Does anyone know if you can get some sort of inserts for the plastic jacking points on the underside of the sills? (R171 SLK). Im looking to change my wheels in a couple of days, I have a new trolly jack but the bit that lifts the car is cup shaped and I dont want to damage the plastic jacking bits.

Thanks.

What if your were to cut a nice, clean, small block of wood to sit on top of the cup shape of the jack? That should work and not damage the sill or the rubber jack mounting point...

Yes, I had thought about that and I could do it. I just wondered if the weight distribution had to be along the entire plastic bit including the raised portion/s as well as the recessed bit. You think that will be ok and safe?, the car will only be wheel less for about half an hour while I clean the liner/s and fit the wheel/s.
