1988 engine could mean single timing chain +tensioner+ guides need replacing. Otherwise cylinder head gasket (usually no 4 cylinder) front springs broken/corroded rear discs/ calipers. Single "jumping" wiper mechanism seized. failure of the dreaded EZL ignition unit ( redo the heatsink compound as a precaution ) Thats about it.
edit:- just remembered valve stem oil seals if its burning a little oil
