So I learnt yesterday mine has one fitted.

I don't like the idea of oil catching particulates and I prefer the OEM idea.

However, before I try and eBay it, is there any compelling reason or evidence why I should stick with it (excuse the pun).

I have one, no problems, we dont have MAF`s on the E55K so no problem about oil contamination, although its not normally a problem, only when re-over-oiled!

i should have said i have x2 K&N`s... its past my bedtime , lol

I have got a pair of them in my C43 and have never had any problems :thumb:

Hmm, guess I may as well stick with them then.

Cheers all.

I'm guessing I have two in that case (so used to cars having a single...).

I also have after market filters in both my w202's: Greens in the c43 and a J&R in the c240T. The latter car has it since 10 years now. No problems at all. Just have to be careful not to over oil after cleaning and making sure you apply oil on the right side of the filter :D

Don't worry, it won't be.

Well that was my worry.

Obviously it picks up particulates but I know it is not the same as a regular.

Saying that, the car must have had them for a while and it is running incredibly well and the filter was cleaned on Friday.

K&Ns are better than I thought in that case.

It is down to whether you want 100% filtration with slightly less airflow or 99% filtration with slightly more airflow - with the 1% less filtration ability meaning more particulates getting beyond the filter.

My inde recommended a paper filter incidentally.
