Lots of Mercedes!
So the 90's Alpine sat nav is extremely slow and I use the becker Indianapolis for that anyway.
So I have a choice of whether to keep the screen and use it as a reverse camera or put it back to original, how an SL60 should be?

I have a fully refurbished centre section with standard cubby hole.
Help..

back to original

current is a bit of a mess, like a display at Halfords of audio units ...

Already got an Indianapolis Pro in there, thats an old picture.

Question is whether to use the Alpine Unit as a Reverse Camera or just take it out altogether.

out altogether.

do you really need a reversing camera. 129 SL is not diffcult to see out of and park.

If you must have reversing aids put some beepy beepy jobs in the bumper. Alpine unit does not enhance the car.

Out. Console on ebay, someone will buy it.

Get rid.

Now...if you could get that piece above the centre air vents to lift up to reveal a screen...that would be cool.:)

Could you use the screen to hook up to a DVD player to use while stationary? I use the comand for this in my cls way more than I thought I would.

The amount of cars Jay has I doubt he will sit stationary in this, surely and SL60 AMG needs to be driven :-)

Had it been a quality period item on say a 50/60s Beetle, then I'd say keep it. Sadly, whilst it's probably a nice piece of kit, period modifications on Modern Classics don't work IMHO with the exception of old-school tuner bits.

oh well... ebay it is... not looking forward to removing all that wiring... theres mountains of it..

Someone also went to town with the sound deadening, they must have totally gutted the car as the car is totally covered in the stuff, under the carpets, centre console, seats etc etc.
