I removed the KC kit from my CL as I'm going a different route with regards to cooling and basically have no space for it anymore.

It works wonders on 55 and 63 supercharged cars with several members on this board alone now swearing by them. If you ever thought of getting one, here's your chance to buy one for less.

The kit has done about 4k miles. It is fully working guaranteed. Comes with instructions manual, necessary fittings but you will need a new set of R134a certified hoses. Available from your local aircon specialist or I can recommend who I use for my aircon needs in Kettering - he has done more than one KC car.

£450 inc. p&p.

Thanks.

Great bit of kit....has kept my IAT's below 50deg C on hard pulls and average of 38deg C on Autobahn cruising.
With Rear Ice Tank as well that's pretty much all is required to enable hard runs time after time ;)

Thats a good price Alex

Should be getting mine fitted when i get home all going to plan.

Hi Alex - I'm interested in this and have sent you PM.

Great Kit :)

I also have the KC kit fitted to my own 55, (very much thanks to Alex), and agree it is a good bit of kit, but not sure its of benefit to every 55/63 owner, I would have thought a few mods might be better fitted before a KC is fitted, you need to use your car repeatedly hard to benefit from its fitment, but just my opinion.
Alex price for his KC is very good, significant saving over original cost.

Given Chris put out some IAT temps, FYI, I'd just add one of my own monitiored runs at the last Vmax this year. Bare in mind I had iced up the rear ice box, I went through the timing beam at 180+mph, temp was at 62c, at end of braking run, it was at 41c and having cruised back to start line, it was at 18c, at that point, checked ice box, no ice, and water was virtually cold. Wonder what temps I might have reached without ice!, but the KC, to my mind definitely helped a fast recovery time, and again, bare in mind with the figures I am putting up above, that the KC, which is plumbed into the AC lines, switches off with the AC around the 150mph mark.
On another note, whilst a very enjoyable day with good company, my 3 runs at Vmax were dismal, very disappointing, so will be going back for another go next spring, no doubt with a few others here, LOL.:thumb:

Not sure you can really compare this years Vmax200 results with past years results due to the shorter course.....hopefully Craig will ensure 2015 is a longer course as I for sure will give it a go ;)

As for the Killer Chiller, super quick recovery enabling run after run with no let up

Simon, you won't be disappointed as the KC will work with or without various other mods and keep the charger so much cooler than without

Happy New Year guys :)

Not my intention to compare like for like Vmax's Chris, every Vmax is different, wind, weather, temps, condition of track, last one this year, plane landed on the Friday, and they left it in prime braking area, hence shorter track. We already know where and when next Vmaxs are, some, as you probably know are to be else where, some we will not get an invite too, but some we will.
As previously said, I think the KC is a good kit, and to my reason to giving my figures out, inline with your own, for interested parties reference and info here.

Also to clarify, I never said the KC would not work on anybody's car, stock or modded, I just said in my opinion unless driving hard repeatedly , they would be better off spending their monies on more power productive mods, until the KC was deemed necessary, and I still maintain this, but totally appreciate, as we all know, heat is an issue and needs dealing with at some stage of car modding especially these mercs.:thumb:

Looking forward to next VMax....hopefully I will keep it fully dressed and no undertrays flying off at 180+ ha ha.....nearly soiled my panse.

I will post up some temps once I get mine fitted so we can compare 55 and 63 cooling

Looking forward to next years vmax with more power than this years ;-)

Just to confirm the KC kit is still available as I had to back out:(

Sense prevailed as funds just don't allow at the moment once I factor in installation etc. I think my missus would kill me if she found out I was spending more on my car, especially when it's her birthday in 2 weeks!!!

I'm sure I will regret it and what Alex has listed will be a great deal for someone - just not me unfortunately:mad:

Simon, just buy the kit for the wife's birthday present. She'll really thank you for it:thumb:.

Everyone's a winner as I see it!:D

Misunderstanding Ricky as I totally agree with you.... :thumb:

Simon, no problem at all.

All,

Depending on your car, you may only need a metre length of an aircon hose. I have some cut hose which you are welcome to have if you're collecting. A metre of heater hose from Pirelli Technology (aka Pirtek) is about £5. Clamps are 50-60p each.

The job can be DYI'ed if you are handy with the spanner. Alternatively, I can recommend a couple of shops that can comfortably do the job for you for not a lot of money.

I don't have the figures handy, but having the KC fitted to mine has made a lot of difference in the way it now keeps pulling and pulling with no let up.

I still have the stock pulleys with a remap, even then I notice the continuous availability of power even after a few pulls

Hi Alex, hope you are well.
What route are you going with cooling if not the KC way?

Matt :thumb:

Matt Hi,

Slightly different air intake and SC intercooler, that's all. Not much space in the engine bay so have to improvise and use every cubic inch available.

Still available.

Here's a picture of how it fits W215 using a fabbed bracket:
