Design ideas and trends or manufacturers/installers?

Ikea has a new range and their quality is now good. Not sure they do solid oak though.
I thought their quality was good seven years ago...is it better now?
I'm not sure about how reliable Bosch are, but our built in Bosch dishwasher is nearly 15 years old...I'll give it another 5 years, then I'll agree.
Agreed. However...Neff is made by the same group and is allegedly slightly further up the food chain. WRONG!
We've got all Neff appliances. Neffer again. Bosch every time.
They have improved what was already a robust design. But, unfortunately reduced the size options...there are no 300mm units now.
I have been told that Ikea sizes can be non-UK-standard, so if you install their kitchen carcasses you may be tied to them for most of your kitchen accessories.
I have been told that Ikea sizes can be non-UK-standard, so if you install their kitchen carcasses you may be tied to them for most of your kitchen accessories. For example, even though some of their kitchen accessories are made by Blum, they are custom made for Ikea and as such are different from the standard Bum range available from other UK retailers.
If you are happy to buy almost everything for your new kitchen from Ikea then this is not a problem, but if you are planning on mixing and matching with other manufacturers now, or later, than you may need to watch out for the details to make sure the bits you are planning to mix and match will fit together.
