Kleeman cls - good car?

In the last 10 months I have rarely been tempted from the E55, but tonight i have seen this. Low mileage. Lots and lots of car for the money. What are the thoughts about Kleeman? Reliable and fair residual? 620 bhp ffs!

 Hello Guys,

Called Car Planet today to arrange a viewing and test drive next Sunday. Really wanted to see the car but can't make it this weekend, need to shop with my wife for Christmas :wallbash:. Need to keep her sweet.

The sales guy told me the car belonged to the owner of the company and was built as a demo Kleemann car and used for publicity and magazine features. Also price negotiable in the region 38K and he said the owner is taking a lost on it.

Guys please give me some advise first before fighting about an Audi issue.

If I buy this car I will join you guys down Santapod.

Do you guys think it is good value for 38K?

Any input on the condition of the car and reputation on Car Planet?

Sorry we did go rather off subject with the whole audi thing...my fault :D, if you could get it for around 35k, its got all the power and bits you could every need by the sounds of it and a quick look at the one below then I say that its would be worth it also has a very high list of options even has a LSD ..

2006 MERCEDES-BENZ CLS55

just fit sum AMG matts, and maybe replace the wood trim with carbon or piano black etc (althought I must admit to rather liking the wood!)....jobs a good un :thumb:

never heard of the dealers mind looks like they are jap import people mainly, is it the owners car or something??.... his mug shot is in the reflection of one of the wings! lol

John,

It is value at £38k, the mods on that car must be 15k +, just make sure it is in excellent condition and has warranty, go and see the car, speak to the person that built it, get as much information about the modifications as possible, if it ticks all the boxes, go for it!

Lopes & Bishy

The more I think about it, the more I think this car is value for money. If I started off with a std low mileage car, like the one bishy linked 28/29k after haggling. Then engine tuning 10k, wheels will cost 1k/2k, cooling kit + extra tank (don't know for what) seems to cost 2k, lowering mod as I understand this car got the Renntech kit with remore which cost 1K ish, race exhaust + performance cats 1K, plus others . . .
Most of the mods I really like except the wheels so these mods are worth 14k ish Plus a decent low mileage car 28k = 42k. 38K is way below what I would had paid if I built one myself. The salesman also told me the car will come with a 6 months warrenty, I will never get a warrenty if I built a car myself.

Good deals guys? Or am I talking myself into it? I am ticking those boxes that I have set out in my mind black on black, fsh, low mileage, 600bhp/600torque, big spec, etc etc

I hope it doesn't get sold before next weekend:rock:

Crazy Christmas shopping:doh: but misses is 1st

hey

i dont think it will sell in a hurry but dont rush into it its alot of money, i still think it is worth 35-36k max but eh thats my opinon.....

acid

acid,

If I can get it for 36k, this will be my own Christmas gift!!

Can I ask, I was going to get a Quaife diff but this seems to have a AMG performance LSD. Which one is better? How much does a AMG LSD cost?

Can't wait to go down the strip and see what time this car puts down.

John

Hey

The AMG LSD is fine i don’t think you will need to spend any money on the car if you brought it, The Car is a Monster!!

Can wait to finish my car and get it ready for the strip.
Paul (Lopes) is getting his toys soon and I hope all the members of the forum can meet up and have a nice day out on the strip! Never ever seen many mercs there only mine! but its nice to know that there are others!!

John(quote)

AMG/Quaife differant but achive the same results, AMG is at least double the price.

This car should run low to mid 11s with the right tyres/driver, you will have a major advantage on us when it gets really hot due to the cooling set up on car..:thumb::thumb:

Also, another thing, if you dont get it, buy a car with MB warranty, and get all the parts from Kleemann US at half the price, you can also get some goodies from these guys RENNTECH // MERCEDES // MCLAREN.

Paul

Lopes,

This Renntech tuner looks really cool
RENNTECH :: NEWS: R.A.T. (RENNtech Auto Tuner)
you can upload tuned maps, high octane map when on track running race fuel, and return the car to std. This is a useful tools.

John

Yeah, nice bit of kit, along with everything else they make.. RENNtech are not cheap but they to provide excellent products> I just received the carbon air box and 82mm TB, absolutely amazing quality! I don't even want to fit them on the car! LOL

Hi John,

I have been to see Max at Car Planet and have looked round the car, it's safe to say its mint, the sound of the exhaust with racing cats is awesome.
They seem very geared up for jap stuff but they really seem to know there stuff and came recommended by Steen.

The price of the actual car I can't comment on other than IMO its mad to suggest that mods arn't worth anything, I think 50% mods value is spot on, so £15k mods should cost you 7/8k after the 1st year. This is how I looked at mine when I bought it from scorcher (spelt right this time!!!) he had £50k of car receipt and mod bills (£30k car £20k mods) from the 18 months up to when I bought it.

It's a safe purchase having seen the owner and the car, hope this helps!

Regards

Dave.

Think you've talked yourself into it, does make sence....at the right price of cause, go and see it and play hardball go in low and set yourself a max price if they dont go for it than leave your details and they may get back to you.

see how much they want to sell it, makes me wonder sometimes mind when some dealers stick to their guns and wont move on price at all looked at an E39 M5 a year and a half ago which was woefully overpriced and its still for sale now:eek: and a 911 that I offered 1k less than the asking price and that was up for 9 months or so after at the price that I offered them! numpties! lol

Happy Xmas shopping

P.s I still disagree with this mods thing, the mods are only a benefit and ad value to a car if people want those mods and percentage wise out of all the potential buyers a particular car or for a CLS55 for example is going to be very low compared to if the car was standard.

If I got out and buy a 5k hatchback for example and spend 10k on mods, it wont be wont be worth 15k or even 10k, prob be lucky to get more than the original 5k.

I would not personally buy a modified car and nor would anybody I know as I always feel you have more of a chance of knowing that the car has'nt been thrashed or had a hard life....like my car which was a one lady owner standard car but then Im not planning plan that level of mods so thats just my opinion

But in this case the car is 99% what he wants, so therefore a bargin to him the only thing that would worry me it that it has been magazine tested etc did I read??

now ive been in numerous press cars at Millbrook etc and out on location as a driver/assistant on car shoots with my mate who's a professional photographer and Ive seen how they and I have treated the cars  the C63 PP pack and RS6 we used last year had scrubbed tyres like you would see on a racing car well hammered! they get treated with very little or no respect. so that would be something to look into further!

So people should stay away from your modified car too???

True im not arguing with that, but then thats only got updated wheels and a remap and I wont be advertising it for more than a standard car

dvd247, Bishy and lopes,

Thanks for all the advises. I am glad that dvd247 you had seen the car and thinks it is mint. That put peace on my mind, Can't wait till next week to see it.

It is definately a bargain to me, as its got most of the performance bits that I really wanted.

Think what you can buy that is 3 years old, low mileage, practical, comfortable, absolutely good looking, 600bhp, 600 ft/lbs torque and maybe 11s ish 1/4 milles.

arrrrrr can't wait till next week #xyz#### christmas shopping arrrrrrr

You not advertising for more because you simply cant. I'm simply saying that if I were to take your advise, I would stay clear from your own car even after you very basic mods. I just think your points are very narrow minded.

Yes a modified car will be harder to sell, for the simple fact that you are selling to a smaller market, that's all.
