Hey folks,

Was wondering if anyone here had Kleemann supercharger added to their car (ideally ML)? What is your experience?

Thanks.

I see this might be your first post - welcome to the forum.

You'll struggle to find owners in the UK who've done this conversion. If you haven't already, do try the US forums - much more popular over there.

Thanks Bobby. Unfortunately not much luck there either. Will have to do some more research before pulling the trigger.

Alot of money to get it done

I've got a quotation of about £2-2.5K. Is that reasonable?

Any reputable tuning shop around Bucks that you guys can recommend for the job?

Take it that's just for fitting the supercharger. The Kleemann supercharger costs about 7.5K, plus you will need to have the ECU remapped if you are going for the stage 2 with headers as well which requires a return to Kleemann HQ - You may also have problems with warranty as Kleemann recommend you use a recognised Kleemann authorised dealer, and the only one i know is SG Performance in West Sussex, If you are not concerned with warranty, then speak to Olly at PCS Service (black c55). Overall you would be looking at 10 - 11K if not more for supecharger, ECU remap and fitting plus a lot of negotiating. I'm close but not there yet.

I thought the E55 AMG (W211) car in pic say's V8 AMG!! already had a supercharger? has he changed supercharger to a Kleemann (expensive mod), can understand changing headers and cats etc. Didn't Scorcher (previous member) fit headers etc to his Black beast - E55.

£2-2.5K labour quoted by Steen @ SG. Was told by Kleemann Denmark ECU remap is "included" with supercharger kit. I will have a word with PCS, thanks for the tip.

Seen it. Expecting that number from supercharger alone on my ML.

Birds in Uxbridge used to offer the Spirit supercharger conversion for the M113 (inc. AMG V8s) and I know they had their own demo car (C43 AMG) that had been converted. Have also seen a W210 E55 in the UK with a Spirit supercharger conversion so there are examples about :)

Have you already bought the Kleeman kit then? Great fun I imagine but I guess it's a lot of money that probably won't ever be seen again. Are the standard gearboxes etc strong enough for the additional power/torque?

We will all need lots of photos of course and passenger runs at any future GTG! :D

That's the man @ SG Steen is very helpful. Olly will be most delighted to hear from you. Keep us up to date if you are serious in completing this mod.

Kit is not ordered yet but it could be here in a matter of days. Gotta find shop ready to do it @ reasonable cost.

RE: gearboxes etc. Kleemann people say they converted about 2 - 3,000 MLs to date with no known issues.

Thanks will do.

Wow - that surprises me. Don't disbelieve what they said, but 3000 ML55 AMGs converted with 5.5 V8 supercharged engines is a lot more than I would have expected.

Surprised that with that sort of demand that MB didn't run off a '55 Kompressor ML as a production model. They did the G55K after all

The 55 in the pic is a 210 with a kleemann supercharger and has changed the intakes to the w211 as the original box might not sit well on top and people have advised that intake works better.

That number is for all MLs V6-V8, inc. ML55. But yeah, it is still impressing nonetheless.

Interesting, thanks. Will give them a buzz tomorrow.
