As above. Anyone know what the latest poss disc is? I'm guessing once I've established what it is I can get one off fleabay.

Thanks folks.

Latest would be 2009/2010. Be aware of eBay as I bought 2 fakes from seemingly trustworthy sellers and getting refunds before eventually buying mine directly from Teleatlas.

Thanks folks...being a bit of a numptie on the Comand stuff I asked the question because the 2003 disc I have in the Comand is not very good, so I tried the 2004 from my Travel Pilot (both Teleatlas) as the detail I could get from the 2004 in the Travel Pilot was much better than the 2003 disc in the Comand. However Comand would not read the 2004 disc so I thought the problem might be the date of the disc. If I'm reading you guys correctly you are saying I can use the most recent disc in a 2000 Comand. If that's so, will I get full postcode entry which is what I'm really after.

Thanks folks

Ian

Run a cleaning disk in the COMAND - one with little brushes and liquid. Use very very little liquid and run it multiple times. Dont get tempted to use too much liquid.

However, the latest disk does not have full postcode (all except last 2 letters), and according to Teleatlas there are no plans to add it :-(

Hi Ian,

Check that the Travel Pilot disc is marked as being DX as opposed to E (or anything else)

Travel Pilot have two types of version DX and E (may even be called RNS-E). COMAND needs a DX type disc.

If it is a DX disc try a cleaining CD as suggested by Richard...

Good point.

They also have a "non DX" disk - (last version of that is 2007, and its used on 1998/1999 (ish) devices), Early COMAND 2.0 can be updated from non DX to DX with the MY2000 (or better still MY2001) s/w update. Not all early COMAND 2.5 (old S class) can be updated.

is there much new in this version, as I have last years CD and am not sure its worth the upgrade

Thanks for all the help guys.

Last question. Is there a significant improvment with the new disc?

I find the current disc very limited, so I'm leaning towards upgrade.

Before I part with my hard earned....any views on the question I put above?

Thanks folks

Lots of changes since 2003. I think that includes both TMC and 5 digit post codes - just try putting a post code in where you put the town name and see if that works.

2003 -> current is definetly worth doing.

The system looks identical and behaves the same though. (i.e you dont get some magic new mapping mode or whizzy features)
