Hi team,
W210 220 cdi 1999 Face lift. I have noticed a smell of diesel when I get in the cabin, which gets worse when the fan is switched on for the vents. I took the plastic engine covers off and noticed the engine had smears of diesel on the top of it and it stank. I went to the local garage and had it steam cleaned. This really did clear up 90% of the smell. Now the engine is all clean I noticed a very fine whisper of smoke coming from the base of the front injector ( the one nearest the front of the car ). This looks new and looks like it has been replaced recently. I don't have any tools to tighten it up and I don't want to snap or over tighten anything. Today I looked again and it has a very fine film of diesel oil around it. All the other injectors are still clean from the steam clean. Does this just need nipping up ? I don't mind buying the tools if it does, or does it need a new washer/gasket etc underneath it ? There is a good garage near me that specialises in Bosh engine management. But if it just needs nipping up I don't want to waste money.

Thanks Merc 808
