Does anyone know of any way to protect or restore seats which are being marked / worn by the seat belt rubbing the outside bolster.

My wifes 2008 CLK drivers seat at 40k is now showing signs of rubbing up badly and I have had this problem on previous Mercs and other cars with leather seats.

Polite suggestions greatly appreciated.

It isn't so much the seat belt rubbing, but rather the drivers hip and rear end rubbing when entering the car.
Revise the entry procedure is my advice.
The damage already done can be made less visible re-dying the leather. If all else fails buy a second hand passenger seat and transfer the leather bag.

Gliptone is the answer it made my seats look like new. Google liquid leather and it's all on there. I got an exact colour match and it cost around £50 for which I did both seats.

+1 for Gliptone.

On my OH's car, as she is about 5 ft tall and of slight build, her driver's seat is set well forward and the seat belt does mark the leather. Tried seat belt pads, but looks chavvy. Regular cleaning and treating keeps the wear to a minimum.

The other trick is to get into the habit of pulling the seatbelt forwards, ie: towards the steering wheel before you draw it across yourself to buckle up. Less abrasive wear that way.

Or buy a 4 door car.
