A friend has the above (petrol).

The car belonged to his father who dies 15 years ago. It has since been driven very rarely but apparently kept serviced, MOTed, taxed, and garaged.

The car was brought over here from Germany in 2000 and registered in the UK on R plates so I believe it is 1997 or 1998.

I don't have much more info at the moment, the car is in the UK (Central London) but my friend isn't...

If anyone is interested let me know and I'll find out more.

Just thought I'd bump this thread for you ;)

Think you need to provide a little more info. Colour , trim level, mileage. Best price probably to be realised from someone about to go back home to the continent with 3 mates and a lot of luggage??

Some sort of dark blue, from memory....

No idea about the rest, as said the owner is away (living in France for a few years now) and left the flat in London with the car locked in the garage. I won't have access to the car until he is next in the UK, and he does not remember much detail - he only drives the car very rarely when visiting London. He has a 2009 S350CDI in Paris. He wants to sell the flat so the car will have to go as he will be losing the garage space.

His father brought the car here from Germany around 2000, he said at the time that the car was previously 'registered to Mercedes Benz in Germany' but it's no clear if it was a car used by MB internally for their own staff was on MB finance etc.

The father was in the habit of buying LHD Mercedes-Benz cars in Germany and bringing them to the UK, no idea why. I always remember him driving an LHD Merc.... and the funny thing is that back in 2000 I actually helped him sell his 1984 280SE (LHD as well) to an Iranian gentlemen who exported it to Iran.

In short... as grober said, if anyone is looking for an LHD car to take to the Continent (or anywhere else), let me know an I'll find out more details.

I guess it's of no use to anyone then.... no worries, will tell him to just get rid of it.

If anyone is interested... the mechanic who looks after the car agreed to buy it and will be taking it to Spain, where he has a house :thumb:

Not that it makes much difference now... but I finally know more about the car... in case anyone was curios.... :D

VIN WDB2100611Axxxxx, Engine M112 (2.4L V6 Petrol), 47,968 miles, delivery date (in Germany) 22/06/1998, First registration (in UK) 01/10/1999, No previous owners (in UK), Taxed and MOTed till the end of this month. Colour 339 Violan Metallic.

Pity about the LHD.... would have made a nice car for someone if the steering wheel wasn't in the wrong place.

How very true... which is why the car was kept long after his father passed away. As he is now selling the flat in London he will lose the parking space. He is living in Paris and considered taking the car to France, but he already has a car (S350) in Paris and won't have space to park a second car there. So it must go....... Incidentally, his father first had an 1970 220, then an 1984 280SE, and finally this one. Each car was kept for a very long time.... that's how Mercedes ownership used to be in the olden days.

This is odd:

612 HEADLAMP-XENON R.H.TRAFFIC

Why would an LHD German car have R.H. Xenons?

Petrol 210s are hard to home at the best of times, at least in Spain it won't rust.

It has always been garaged, and spent very little time on the road (just checked the MOT history - in past years the car did under 1,000 miles a year). But I haven't seen the car in a few years now so no idea if it has any rust or not.

Either way... someone wanted it so it's gone now :)

Think this means the lights are for use where cars drive on the right hand side of the road. I.e. normal equipment for LHD cars.
