Loose wire

Mate i know that if we spot something wrong then we naturally try to fix it but if you can't find the other damaged wire and the car does is not storing any faults or not functioning correctly then why try and fix it?

The body harness has connectors all over the place that are not always connected depending on the cars spec for all we know it could be one of them, a wiring diagram probably wont be as much help as you think unless you know where the wiring is coming from or where its going to, there's no single wiring diagram for connectors in the engine bay.

You would have to check out every diagram for every harness in the bay and then your probably going to find more than one wire with the same markings, if it was going somewhere it makes sense its other end will be located very close by.

I know exactly what you mean, for example there is a wire on the front doors just behind the door card that does the puddle lights and are just taped up on lower spec models but are present in higher spec models, but this wire has a gound, which is attached to a grounding point and if the wire did not serve a purpose it would not have been grounded, i have looked in the area to find the other end with no luck what so ever!

A wiring diagram would be alot of hep to me as i would be able to tell what the wire does and where it ends up, i did this for the heated seats/memory seats and a host of other mods. the wiring loom in question feeds a few main items such as the fam/foglight/washer bottle and a few other partsincluding this stary wire.

I don't know what else you could look at from the wiring diagram but wire colours of systems at this area of the car and that is what I did. The only black/blue coloured wire was the one for the washer nozzle hose heater, I did not say the bottle!

This heating element is grounded at the area you show. But of course it could be something totally different.

PS. many here have the wiring diagram but I at least am hesitating sending it without a good purpose.

I have again put the multi meter accross it and have found that there is no current going through it when the car is on, but when the car is off there is a current draw of 0.045v. Must do something, i have spent so much time looking for a connection i have gone through everything possible but cant seem to even locate the other end which i presume must also be broken and have some wire attached to it! but it has not brought up any fault code/s, could be a stored one that my little scanner cant pick up, im just hoping that its not linked to my other current issue of high fuel consumption!!!!!

There is something odd in your measurement. The point being that there is no current draw of 0.045 V. Are you measuring a DC voltage of 0.045 volts on that line, towards ground? It could be a floating wire when the car is off.

im going to check it later today when im back from work!
