Hiya,
Just wondering, what is the max rev the car goes when on a parked gear, not moving. There is a security for it, is it? Not going over 3000/ 4000?
Thank you. :)
Just curious.

4000?

Probably depends on the model.

The question is because someone in another forum claim that after 4000 RPM the oil is squirting through the dipstick??? Odd.
Samr car as mine. E300TD. Year 1997
Thank you.

His could be a manual , these might rev higher , I must check mine some day if i think of it

Humm, I never heard of a E300 TD, 1997 manual. I think they were all automatics. Might be wrong. Thank you.

All diesels rev to the limiter in neutral.

If it's blowing oil either the breather is blocked or the rings are shot. Clean the breather out and flush the engine, if it still does it perform a compression and leak down test.
