Finally they appear! Michael did a superb job on the car. The number plates were replaced as the originals complete with Alan Day logos from the original delivery were a bit tired and I wanted to keep them as part of the history but they were prime candidates to be cracked by poor parking near me.

The colour is very light sensitive - in the bright light its very blue, but it goes very black in shade. A lovely colour.

I need to get my estate done, and my little 02, but just no time at the moment.

I think the chap who bought it when I went for the estate is selling it due to adverse finances. As a car it is quite brilliant, and having had the head gasket and inner wheel arches done, it would be a cracking buy, especially as it very sharp to drive.

I can't recall being in Park Royal on the 2nd October. I was certainly in Chelsea in the morning as someone was looking at some wine racking in my wine storage unit.

It was the last weekend I had the coupe before swapping it for the estate.

No mistaking that number plate. We passed while driving over one of the speed bumps outside the multiplex cinema. And yes, I recall that your post about having acquired the estate appeared shortly afterwards.

I might have been popping into Hoo Hing or out to Southall having popped into Westfield to the Apple Store to look for a cable of some description, which they didn't have, then stopped in Park Royal for a phone call (having disconnected the bluetooth in advance of taking the car down to Nick).

Having lately weeded my email trail no clues present themselves. Oh fallible memory.

Can't say I clocked an SLK, but nowadays I tend only to recall old or rare cars.

At some point, it having really been acquired just before the winter and now most of my focus has been on the little 02, so once that's sorted, I'll give my W124 some love, especially when the hi-fi has been fitted!
