trying to get a circuliar 3 pointed boot badge for my clk

how hard can it be..??????

1st one was just a sticky pad fix thingy fell off after 2 days

2nd one came with the 3 pins but didnt fit pins to narrow for the 3 holes

3rd one came this morning ..opened package broken one of the pointed stars was snapped where it meets the outer rim...and pins to narrow to locate the holes

doing my head in :wallbash:

aint worth sending um back only £4 off ebay...

any one know best place to get one that fits...:thumb:

It sounds like you had the correct one, with the pins on, you need to fit plastic grommet like sockets in the holes in the body work first. Lubricate the pins on the back of the badge and sockets (now in the body work) with washing up liquid, and push firmly into place.
But be aware that some of the boot badges on some models are shaped to the contour of the boot lid so it important to orientate the badge correctly before fitting.

thanks all...

the badge with the pins fitted didnt fit..they where about half a hole out of line..if you know what i mean ????? never mind spent £12 on um up to now ha ha
will try local MB dealer...:p should have gone there first

I replaced mine, £18 from dealer after the hotel in Biarritz advised me to park outside rather than pay 10 Euros to use their car park for the night. C'est la vie as they say over there.

as Andy points out, there are 3 gromets that go in the holes and the pins locate into them.

your local mb dealer will have these

Do NOT buy any badges off ebay....been stung many times, even when they are supposedly OEM, packaging looks good, look genuine then either they fall off or deteriorate rapidly in the winter!

Got my last badge from Alps...real McCoy:thumb:

Dependent on what they are buying badges from the 'stealer' can be expensive ie. AMG badges are £60...a good idea would be to see if you can source direct from Germany...I have bought 100% genuine parts from German Ebay in the past. Just sourced a R129 SL bonnet insulator direct from Germany, 50% saving from UK MB 'stealer' even with courier!
