Mercedes 190 2.5 16 & Citroen XM exterior detail in North West

Love that colour

It is absolutely stunning - it bursts out with a coral/lobster red glow when the sun is at certain angles. Most 190 valvers are black or silver, which look very good, but this is super special.

Which bodyshop did the work Olly? Vince was exceptionally complimentary about the standard compared to the other cars he's seen after re-sprays.

For those interested, this is what the Citroen XM paint looked like before and after. Just goes to show what is possible and in its own way more impressive than a newly painted car.

I think you cheated and just removed the Matte vinyl wrap you had put on the XM... ;0

Just scraped all the sheep muck off...

Now I need to get the bonnet touched up. Finding the paint code (the engine bay is devoid of the normal markings) is not easy!

The code will be there buried under the wiring just in front of the air filter box.

It's either ETW..Graphite or ETW..Mercury.

Both are very handsome cars, the XM is getting better as it gets older.

I agree, and I'd say the 190 is also doing the same. A neighbour popped by as I was cleaning the Benz and asked what it was as it looked so sharp.

Ok, I now have the detailing bug. Using a DAS orbital sander I've been working on the Vince's excellent foundations, and today really started to get a seriously good finish from Menzerna Final Finish PO106 FA. Once done, I'd like to seal this in.

What suggestions for a good sealant that an amateur like me can I apply easily?

Thanks, I was actually using that and hoping for a suggestion to reduce the number of options! The Jetseal did draw my attention too!

Looks like graphite, I had an XM2.0LPT in that colour, looked lovely and drove wonderfully.

Hardly ever see them now..........

The colour is called Mercury or Silicon Grey (depending upon where you try to find it). It is seriously lovely when polished, I'm just busy doing my Cosworth and my black XM at present, the latter is to be sold so I want it looking just so!
