Just to let you know that I have been recently dealing with the above Service Centre and they are EXCELLENT !!!

This place is service only so they have to be nice to you, to win your business again as there is no car sales attached to this facility.

The staff are very efficient and the facilities are great.

They also seem to be able to find the problems with your car, unlike some local dealers who have the car back two or three times for the same fault

Glad you had a great experience with them. Service only centres sound good :) as they have to be good at it to suceed!

Out of interest would you mind telling what there hourly labour rate is. Most of my local dealers charge £95 / hr. I would have thought Uxbridge being within the M25 may be more expensive yet again !

Their hourly rate is about £90 - not too bad I suppose. My car's with them at the moment for its 'B' service - not too impressed so far though. Went to drop car off this morning and was told loan car was booked for two days. When I asked why, I was told that they are short of technicians because they have people off sick and on leave and they are very busy. So why is this my problem? I booked my car for a service today and would normally expect it to be ready by close of play for the day, barring unforeseen circumstances.

I also asked them to check out the heater booster, as I thought it may not be working - yes they'll do that, but at a charge of 'around £30' for 20 minutes labour. Further, I asked them to check the car for ABS/ESP fault codes as I had a message about its failure a few weeks ago. Was told they don't routinely check the fault codes, but they could do it if I wanted, at an extra charge of 'about £30'.

I'm not totally surprised about the charge for checking the heater - if they say it's working, I'll be happy to pay. However, if they say it's not working, then the car is still under warranty, so I don't see why I should have to pay.

I'm still trying to get over my astonishment about them not routinely checking fault codes - I've always assumed that this was just a routine part of the service schedule - maybe someone else would care to comment?

I would just say - " the heater isn't working properly - check it. The car is under warranty."

I certainly wouldn't expect to pay anything for a possible warranty job.

Hi

I have used Cowlet Garage a number of times since they opened some years back and initially they were great, but over the years with technicians and manament changes I have not been pleased with them, Had a lot of problems regards an item they repaired that was in warranty, only for the same part to fail a year later, they would not replace it as now stating the warranty had expired and i had to pay.

I am now faced with a B service and looking arounf North West london somewhere, heard of MercsOnly in Hanwell, but after reading the various blog sites, I don't think I will be chancing "...my precious...." with them !

Also found that MercsOnly is owned by a Mrs Shahsi Kiran Gossian, don;t get me wrong, I have no issues with a female owning a company, but her spciality is runnning chain of Pharmacies and is educated in this field. So this leaves me to think that the MercOnly company is only to make money. I have after 'service' not a quick win for someone!

But if anyone knows of a good reliable service for Mercs in NW London and keeps the warranty valid, please let me know

Thanks
