Mercedes Benz W211 2006 TV Tuner Retrofit

Hi all , I need some help on fitting my TV tuner on my Mercedes E320 cdi sport 2006 . I recently purchased a TV tuner with the part number : A211 820 1497, which is suppose to be the right one for my car and my question is, does this unit operate direct through most optical connection to the command or do I need something else to go with it. please help .

That's an analogue TV tuner. You won't be receiving any signals to it in the UK these days, after digital switch-over.

if you are going to retrofit, then spend the money on a digital tuner, absolutely no point going for analogue.

power, ground, wake up, aeriels, and optical in\out.

the MOST system is a fibre ring, so it will need to be joined into the ring. then you will need STAR to add the unit into the central gateway.

There is - most people buy this kind of modules for the AUX video input, not for the actual TV function.

That is the whole point, I want to use the module as an av input so I can use an external digital tuner , I have already disconnected the optical wires from the sat nav unit and connected to the TV tuner unit , powered it up everything works as sound , command controls , and display,but the TV menu is not showing on the screen. do I need the aerials to be connected to the unit for it to work ?? or it is a possibility for the unit to be faulty ?? please help !?!?

star diagnostic coding has been done on agw unit but still doesn't appear that it has been recognised.

did you reset you MOST ring afterwards?

You shouldnt need aerials to power the unit and at least get a menu.

not sure what else you could try, esp as the condition of the unit is unknown.

Hello again to everyone needing an answer one again please . I have bought the wiring loom and the digital box and now I have another problem . I am using aux 1 and I now can get sound but no picture on screen . Can anyone please help
