When Mercedes Enthusiast did the photo shoot for my C124 Widebody ( feature article coming this summer ), they decided to take some pix of my 1971 280SL.
Found out a few weeks ago that it would be in the current ( March 2013 ) issue ..page 44 and 45.

It's paint code 576 - Red.
The W113's had five or six shades of red...
576 is dark but not as dark as dark red or as light as medium red.

If you haven't noticed the passenger is very masculine, my body man and painter John Walls...
The writer took liberty and wrote as it was he and his wife taking a drive...a bit of poetic license

Saw this in the copy of the magazine I bought this morning - lovely car. Just what I aspired to in the early 70s!

When I was looking for my first Merc I saw one of these, and I was very, very tempted - but didn't quite succumb. Maybe when I retire....
