Mercedes W114 250 Coupe - help!

Will you be using the waterproofing cover over the dizzy cap or will the dizzy cap be on display?

In which case, where does the lead destined for cyl#1 emanate? (I suggest O'Clock reference viewed directly from the front of the car?
The leads as the present to the dizzy - in pairs/singular/bunched; angled upward/downward/level?

A photo always helps. Which end is cylinder 1 (closest to 6 O'Clock or 12 O'Clock)?

In the above pic, cyl#1 and 6 O'Clock on the dizzy nearest front of car.

Note though, different orientation of vac capsule (dependent on installed angular position of dizzy presumably) compared to the pic below.
The further the dizzy is spun clockwise, the better the access to the D-Jet cartridge.
If the leads are to be bundled as in upper pic then aligning them with firing order is largely futile?

Clearly the dizzy orientation is not fixed. When you get the old dizzy cap Bellow it should be clear about how it looks now. Check if there is a cylinder marking - the new one has six on one terminal.

Meanwhile, MB still stock the gearbox shaft for which Grober kindly found the part number. So if Druk the handyman would rather sand his shed, I mean, find a handyman to sand his shed, the shaft is not mission critical. This is very pleasing that MB continue to stock parts for a 50 year old gearbox!

Adjustable for timing but the variation in the two pics doesn't seem right - out by an amount that would nearly see the rotor arm connecting with a different cylinder.
However, positioned as in the pic below gives a near perfect sweep for the leads.

Good news on the gearbox shaft. Harder to comment on Druk's (scabbie dug) shed. I wonder which will be painted first - W114 or the shed?

The shed.

Although I might find tomorrow that my assumption is wrong, but I wouldn't bet against it.

The Forth Rail Bridge's next coat of paint will be on before my car is done. They're all on holiday.

Do they come from France?

Matt was there, with his broken leg, and the rest were either away or on a normal day off (Peter works part time). It's me being selfish for progress I suppose after quite a long time of enforced delay.

Nothing to report, but isn't this nice in Anthracite metallic?

Very nice colour! I can't decide whether or not to change from the original colour on my car, but that looks very good!
My cars original colour is silber-grun, silver-green in English, not the most pretty colour!

It is difficult when you don't like a colour, in my case the original PapyrussWeiss 717. In this case it's a bit easier as the car has to be totally repainted, but the cost is high if you have to take the engine out etc.

I quite like Silber-grun, but not with the red interior of my car.

A Pagoda would look good even in tartan.... Does that one need the contrasts (roof, hub caps) to work?

The contrasts certainly help, but if the black was any larger (like a coupe roof) I think all grey would be much better.

Most things look good in tartan. Except for George IV.

Excellent news, and perfect timing, the paint stencil for the hubcaps is back in stock in the US, so have ordered one.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.....
