Mercedes W202 diff- Interchangable? And what diff ratios are available?

Hi

I dont know what diff ratio I have in my 1999(?) Mercedes C230 Kompressor manual, but I would like a lower one (more acceleration, less top speed) if its possible and they are the same basic diff just with a different CWP.

Maybe one from a C180 is lower?

Does anyone know? And where would I get one in the UK?

The ratio is stamped on a tab on the diff.

interesting, but alot of work wouldnt you say? iv got the same set up ad you, 230k manual and i wouldnt say its worth it personally.. plus your then putting difs and gearboxes under strain

I can swap the diff within a day on the 4 post, so no problem there, and know the huge difference to acceleration it can make from other cars.
Depending on my current ratio and whats available of course, small changes arent worth the effort, but I dont actually know what W202s came with what ratios, or any info like that actually.

There wouldnt be any different strain though if we just changing the ratio to one with more acceleration and less top speed, maybe less to be honest.
