I only ever use class 4 cards in my airborne full HD (1930x1080, 18,000 kbps) video camera ... in fact they specifically state that there's no benefit in using class 6 or 10.

That can indeed be the case.

There may well be a benefit when if you use the car to transfer the recording to another device which can take advantage of the extra speed.
 
Just to close this, I have ordered a Scandisk 32gb, class 10 micro SD (with adapter) from Memorybits.

Good choice John. I have had a few Kingston MicroSD fail on my, currently using 64gb class 10 Sandisk's and so far have been very reliable
 
Good choice. The price difference between class 4 and class 10 is so negligible that it seems foolish not to future proof yourself.
