Mile High Club

maybe you should look at trucks if you want high milage..the one I am in now V reg has 873323 km (542682 miles) on the clock and this is not unusual for trucks.

Unfortunately we have to focus on Cars for thi sfeature but thanks for your help anyway.

I think I'm gonna try cab companies near Exeter next... You never know.

Marc

Have you tried some local Police forces, i remember looking (not having a lift) in a Rover Sterling Traffic Car with over 250k miles in it

I worked for a security company once as a mobile supervisor, we had Renault Clios (Horrible, simply horrible- Seats did my back in) on lease. They were on the go 24hrs a day basically. I think that one did almost 100K in a year, no joke. Diesel engine though. If my colleagues hadn't shattered the plastic front wings quite so often it might be a contender now....

Good idea. Thank you. I shall give that a try tomorrow (as well as cab companies).

Many thanks for your contribution.

Best wishes,

Marc

Where was that company based? If it is near Exeter (or 60 mile radius) then it might be worth considering.

Thanks for conribution.

My 260E has 226,000 on the clock. However the body work I am ashamed of :o

Mines 145K, I know its way too low, BUT just about run in now:bannana:

My lovely W124 200TE has 160,000 with great bodywork and drives like a 50k car if your interested.......I suppose its not that higher mileage though.

It's not unusal to see excellent condition 3 year old ex-fleet cars at auction with 200k up.These cars are almost always bought by the trade and clocked back to 70k.
The highest I've seen is 480k on a 5 year old Volvo estate used by a courier.

adam.

My dad is the owner of Mercman, he's told me they have a 124 estate with 567,000 miles on it as it's used for delivery's daily.

I'm Off To Exeter On Sunday

Well what a turn up. I have just been asked to go to the filming of the show on Sunday. A mega early start as the filming is at 10:15 and I will be leaving sunny Portsmouth at an ungodly hour, but should be a good grin. My car will be the star showing off its new star on the bonnet.

Pietre,

what was your mileage, if you dont mind me asking?

Congratulations,
It is a beautifully scenic drive, especially on the approach to Devon, I will do one of my sun dances to encourage the sun to shine over PowderhamCastle :)

It is also just a short distance from sunny Torquay, so feel free to pop in.

John

The mileage is 150K, but they are after full service history to show the benefits of looking after the car negating the high mileage factor. Just hope they dont look too closely at the wheels as Mr Brabus may get embaressed at the crap laquer.

I went to the filming of the Used Car roadshow yesterday where my car was used in the Miles High Club presentation. I had a great time watching the filming and the various antics of the presenters. It was a fun time and the episode is being shown 2nd week of September.

By pure coincidence my local dealership is arranging a day out at Powderham Castle. We have just received our invite to drive the new E, R and SL class. I've only recently stated how I would dearly love to sit in the SL :o :) Talk about kicking a man when he's down. :)

If anyone is in the Exeter area on the 29th July then pop along to Powderham Castle.

Regards,
John
