Wonder if anyone can help with this. My central locking just packed up on my ML 350 and I have no idea what can be wrong. Have tried everything I can think of of. Changed the batteries in the key. Sync the key. Checked the fuses both the 20amp and cube fuse control block. Took it to the local garage and they plugged in the computer system no faults showed up. The only clue my be that the system said the key sensor was irrevocably blocked. Whatever that means in plain english.

Hadn't thought of the alarm, only that the key wouldn't work using the buttons, still doesn't. The alarm doesn't do anything when I put the key in or try and open the doors etc. I have to use the key to unlock the drivers door then unlock the rest inside on the console. This is just a pain in the backside, with a class motor you expect to be able to walk up to it and use the key fob to open. Hope this makes sense.

Put the key in the ignition and turned to position 2 removed the key and depressed the unlock button on the console while holding down the lock end. Didnt work though.

Still not finding any happiness. Has nobody got any ideas?

Believe it or not this has re appeared. The key no longer works other than for the ignition. The central locking acts normally as far as locking the car both when driving and locking or pressing the locking button in the car. Nothing will unlock with the button and each door has to be opened on its own. The tailgate will not unlock only by manually operating it from inside which is a proper pain. I've tried activating and de-activating the central locking according to the book and that seems to make no difference either way. Hope someone has some ideas.

Is there an activator for the tail gate lock? When I press the interior button it all locks fine. Will not unlock though. I do get a funny noise which seems to come from the tailgate area.

Hi regarding your key issue do you have a spare key to test ?
To rule out the transmitter in the key
If both keys still dont lock unlock then potentially you may have an issue with the receiver on the vehicle not picking up the key signal
Normally sits under the trim by the rear screen have you any other issue.s like interference when using the rear screen and the radio goes fuzzy ?

The key hasn’t worked for years. That’s why I wondered about an actuator. It all works perfectly to lock with the button in the car but then will not unlock via the button. Each door has to be done on its own and the tailgate via the inside slide.
