Hi

I had my ML270 CDI serviced and MOT'd 2 weeks ago.

The bill was £1500 as I needed front and rear genunine suspension joints.

A week after getting the car back the coolant light came on as driving. The car will not kick down and slowly goes up to 60mph or more I guess limp mode. It never gets hot.

We have been driving it like this for a week.

The coolant in the bottle level looks fine but collant is blue, I thought meant to be yellow (garage is a merc / BMW servicer have they put wrong coolant in it? blue?)

I took off the negative from the battery and the fuse on the posative, checked the fuse on my meter and its fine.

If i press heated seats they flash and won't come on.

Now the radiator/fan unit at front of car there appears to have 2 wires to some sort of stat if I pull the stat out its wet but no water in there. Is that normal, what is that stat?

I dont want to take it back to the garage as £1500 2 weeks killed me...

Any ideas what i can check?

Thanks

Tony

ML270 Coolant Light on

Hi

I took the fuse off the positive on the battery and checked it with a multi meter and is fine, also didn't look blown.

Any other ideas?

Thanks

Tony

Same here have you code read it? Cooling fan fcu? I have a spare.

same happened to mine, replacement cooling fan and ecu/control unit arrives tomorrow, bit pricey but if it fixes it I will be a happy bunny again as I love the car, got lots of good advice on here and after checking other bits this is the last one so I would say you need the same :(

£350 on ebay, god knows how much from main steeler, I rang a breaker and got one for £150 (fan with control unit still attached) :thumb:

I'll let you know how I get on fitting it at the weekend and will be back on to hopefully thank all for advice ;)
