No mods on mine, I would like an AMG body kit, looks good on the Estate, but swmbo needs, or seems to need the money for things for the home :(

With , definately ....

Although i would get that rear quarterlight chrome strip black anodised personally ..... or covered with electrical tape, just as good ...... ;)

Howard,

I didn't notice the rear quarterlight chrome strip until I saw it in the photos! Considering the car looked like this a couple of weeks ago I'm reasonably happy with it - http://z14.invisionfree.com/mercedes_190_club/index.php?showtopic=3146

Everyone says put the spoiler on, though I like it without.

Next question is, which spoiler? The photo above in my first post is a Carat Duchatelet. The photo on this post is a Cosworth spoiler on my 2.3-16, of which I also have a spare.

Cossie ....

I have a Carat Duchatelet spoiler on my w124 and it doesn't overhang the sides like that .....

TBH they both look nice .... but personally i would go cossie, looks squarer that matches the line of the car ....

It's meant to overhang, at least on the 190s - maybe you've got a Carat W201 spoiler on your (wider bodied) W124? Is that possible?

So many W201 spoilers were made - http://tinyurl.com/ybpmn2

Like Shude says anything in addition to the "standard spec from factory" is considered a modification, even if its a factory option that you addded afterward, i would consider it a mod!

OEM MB mods

Avantgarde grill
AMG kick sills
AMG Mats
Autodim rear view mirror
18" monoblocks
210 blinking folding mirrors using OEM plugs, pins, harnesses, switches.
SLK/Evolution pedals
SLK chrome shift frame
E55 steering wheel and gearknob
OEM Xenon conversion
OEM alloy stem caps

Aftermarket mods
H&R springs
Various ICE & Multimedia inc custom boot build, Sat nav
Pentagon light smoke tint
silver indicator bulbs
phillips Extreme white side lights

Cant remember anthing else, i`ll add it if i remember

2 Kleemann fluffy dice. [they really make a difference].

CE Not exactly Mods.

Replaced the Engine Mounts :D Massive Improvement :D :D :D
K+N Air Filter Slight Improvement Less Vibration
New Steering Damper Less Vibration
New Rubbers / Bushes etc. Same
New Speakers Much better
New Bonnet Liner Much better :)
New Injectors few more mpg smoother quicker:rock:
New Rugs Quieter. surprised ! :D
New interior lights Brighter....

Megiuars PlastiX headlight cleaner. Impressive
replace bumper inserts
Removed a few scratched dents in a bodyshop.

coming up for a 140k and running beautifully.

The only real mod I would like is a quad Auspuffer (heh) for the W208 AMG, and apparently it doesn't exist, except for the 430 it does, which is maddening. Only alternative is to change the rear kit to something else except AMG.

I'm sure the 430 one could be modded to fit with a sleeve , then just buy two more AMG trims to go with your existing two and Robert's your fathers brother ....

I bet the pipes on the V8 4.3 are ore or less the same diameter as the V8 5.5 ..

Remember anything can be made to fit anything given enough patience and money .....

What is clear from threads on other forums is that a good many owners are unaware of the need to tell the insurance company of any mods that affect performance. Some companies are very relaxed about this; some will not accept. But the important thing is to notify them as otherwise the first time you hear your policy is null and void is when you are involved in an accident. Not nice.

One other point is that companies offering 'remapping', 'chipping' etc often do not make clear that this infringes Merc copyright, and infringes the warranty unless Merc approved.

Not just performance-related enhancements - styling (eg spoilers) and interior (eg audio) items can affect insurance premiums too.

Removed the centre silencer on the OEM AMG exhaust to make it sound throatier.

And did you tell the Insurance company? Could be expensive if you don't.
