Most interesting Taxi you've ever seen?

A friend of mine who lives in Bookham has an E55 W210 estate as a private hire car, it has been de badged and suprise's a lot of people :D

Silver pre-facelift, think it's a T plate?

I live in Effingham, and I'm sure I've seen the car around. I was sitting outside the Douglas Haig and I noticed a W210 Estate with a private hire sticker in the back window and it made a V8 noise as it left the roundabout.

I'm sure you can buy a taxi spec E Class in Germany - there are thousands of them, all in tasteful beige. I've also been in an S500 taxi from Zurich airport, and an Audi A8L 4.2D and Chrysler 300C in Amsterdam.

I know from a specialist MB brochure in 1995 that taxi editions were available. Apart from colour, it has a fixed spec, with added electrics and an upgraded steering rack. Can't remember if it was the 202 or just-launched 210.

How does one pay the fuel and insurance for these AMG private hire vehicles?

I enjoy driving, but not so much to get something mad, that I'll make a loss!

I saw a brand new Rolls-Royce Phantom (like Alan Sugar's) with TFL private hire day-glo roundels in the windows in Oxshott a couple of years ago. Beat that!

Congestion Charge beater - the more you have, the more you try to hang onto it...

Went to a Dylan gig in London in the '90's and asked the hotel to book a taxi to Hammersmith and it turned out to be a black M-B stretch limo. Pretty cool being dropped off outside the gig, plenty of people seeing who was getting out of it but nobody recognised us:D
