I saw the Ducati beat the Lambourghini around a twisty circuit where the Lambo should have the theoretical advantage.

Well gents you are misguided, I race a GSXR1000 which is 165 kilos and puts down 185 bhp at the back wheel, It has lapped donnington in the low 1min 14secs and will do 0 - 180 in 12secs, and it will do all the same in the wet, I'm 45 years old and drive a SLK, so next time you come into a roundabout trying to overtake a bike round the outside just be careful because some of these guys can ride and will leave you very red faced, Bikes these days are kitted with slipper clutches, progressive braking, switchable fuel programming all on a sesame seed bun, be warned
