My car is definately not normal...

For some reason the V6 CDI Sprinter gets 20 bhp less than the V6 Vito (and a bit less torque). But of course yours may be 'special' :D

I'm not sure, having not driven one... However it's possibly that it just feels fast. They are HUGE which does somewhat add to the novelty factor perhaps :D

Pay close attention to the before and after dyno. DMS never used to offer this, in fact they refused when I wanted it done. Not surprising as their remap did absolutley nothing by way of power increase. Despite their good press in the press mine is not the only experience to leave me doubting DMS for some applications. I very much hope you see what they promise though.

I always found the C230K fairly capable car. Wouldn't have thought R32 terriotory, but on the move riding the torque it wasn't a slouch.

Popuptoaster - tuned Cortina, from Essex - sterotypes abound :D

You forgot the C word. ;)

The best in economy stealth performance, 0-60 in under 7 seconds, and according to the sat nav it would hit the rev limiter at 135mph in top on its original axle, i didnt get the chance to try it on the higher geared replacement i fitted but i reckon it was worth another 10mph top speed and didnt slow the acceleration at all. Was amazing in gear though, in 5th from 70mph i could leave my mates 2 litre turbo audi behind even if he dropped from 6th to 4th gear and nailed it, and all from a tatty Dagenham dustbin that gave better mpg than it had with the old pinto in it, 30.2mpg on average even when driven hard.

u sure it did absolutely nothing? did u dyno it at all to see the difference?

They garaunteed me, that if i dont get minimum 24bhp proven on the before/after dyno, then they wont charge me a penny. thats good enough for me !

Dunno what the official 0-60 for a 230k is, but if it's more than 8.0 you need to watch out for Vito 120 vans too ;) :D

Mine's more like 6.0

I like that cortina, if only it was one colour

Paint was next on the list, i was running it for a couple of months to work out any gremlins, last thing i wanted was to be trying to fix any bugs and havin to worry about damaging the paint, unfortunately a faulty fuel pump and not carrying a fire extinguisher sorted out the colour. :S

Matches the front wing quite well. :D

Something you said earlier made me think it had come to a sad end.

I bet the neighbouRs absolutely loved you!

worst thing was the fire showed up how completely rust free the car had been, a full tank of juice and a two gallons in a metal can in the boot got it hot enough to warp the whole car.

Still, wouldnt have bought my coupe had the Cortina not died, and it should have comparable performance with the V8 thrown into it, so watch out you lot. :D

No room for the original airbox, it was planned to make a ducted box for it eventually.

And you didnt have the heater connected either.

Shame you lost her, i have a soft spot for old Fords.

Im more finding its difficult to put all that power down on the road from the 320cdi. Wheelspin happens sooo easilly in the wet its unreal.

A lightly spirited acceleration up an onramp will see the car fishtail a little before getting grip and requesting permission from air traffic control , but there is that slight pause while the tyres argue with the tarmac.

roll on the summer :)

Neither my Vito (V6 CDI) or SL (5L V8) have traction issues in the wet!

230K

was all plumbed in and working properly, pic was taken before it was all finished, i hate bodge jobs so no electric rad-fans on switches or after market rev counters for me, i like it all to look factory and work right, the car had electric windows, central locking, recaro seats front and rear, proper uprated springs and shocks, all the bushes replaced with nylon ones, a much stronger and lighter gearbox etc etc.

Traction was my biggest problem as i didnt want to swop to bigger rims, it would spin the wheels in second gear in the dry if you put your foot all the way down while poodling along, no slipping the clutch required, in the wet it would do it in third or when it came on cam at 3200rpm and go sideways if you were accelerating.

anyway, sorry for the thread hi jack, i'll keep you all posted on the V8 into my w114 coupe when i get started on it.
