My CLS55 AMG... Its more than a car!

Some pics after a recent valet thanks to my nephew who works for Audi and gets to drive all their high performance cars all day and customers' cars from Lambos to Ferarris... Some may tut at the cheap tires, but they do the job and I find it more fun to drive on cheap tires.
looking good Chris ;)

Just need to replace the *drivers side door handle (keyless entry), fix broken exhaust bracket, tidy up all scuffs and dents etc., upgrade the diff LSD, replace *water coolant pump thing and do some minor interior repairs and it will be 100% spot on.

I was at Morrisons earlier today and a guy pulled up next to me as we were both parking, he was in a BMW, and he said that's a beautiful car and it sounds amazing. He was driving a 5 series and must have been in his 60s.

I love the CLS 55!

*I have the parts.

Looking very nice Chris. Whereabouts in the toon are you from pal?

Yeah i got some stick also ruining cheaper tyres but ive never had any issue either and they are completely predictable.:thumb:

Sounds awesome bud, Your S/c is one of the quieter ones like mine too.

I'm not just saying this because its my car but anywhere I go people stop, turn, stare and comment on the CLS. You may see many a CLS, but not many CLS 55 AMG's. My car draws looks wherever it goes and I'm constantly told its a great looking car, that it sounds great etc. Its only a car, but I'm proud to say I'm an owner of a CLS 55 AMG, for me the most iconic car Mercedes have made in the last 20 years in terms of looks, exclusivity, power and wow factor. My car is over 10 years old, but many people think its new, top of the range etc.

It looks better than the new CLS63 IMO and sounds better. I know which will appeal to buyers more in the near future...

Ironically I'd only ever put decent tires on it if I was trying to sell it. To me, seriously, the difference isn't that great, not to justify the stupid price differences. Drive my car sensibly regardless of the weather conditions and it drives fine no matter the make of tire. Drive it hard and crazy though and its huge fun on cheap tires compared to expensive ones and I like to be kept on my toes. My cheap tires despite hammering them gives me about 6K miles...

What is that, details please?
Chris it's a Mercedes meet at PCS near Portsmouth called Benz on the green. Really a great day with great company. If you go to the events section it's on there. Check it out and register as the day won't disappoint. The drive up in convoy is usually excellent ;)

I have to agree.
I buy the Matador tyres that are reputedly made in the continental factory under licence as these are "r=Reputedly" older design Continentals from approx 10yrs =+ that Matador has bought the licence for. So in my mind my car is 13/14yrs old it most likely left the factory shod with this design tyre fitted.

I have had them on my C32 & this E55 , the C32 was caned quite a bit around some very twisty roads in Somerset & it never slid or gave me any worry or concern, the tyres held on very well & were quiet on the motorways ( a must for me), I recommend them.
