My other car is.....

My "other" is a Yamaha MT09 Tracer.
Lovely weather for a bike ride

This is one of the main reasons I ride a mountain bike. It's heavy and on fat slicks and takes a lot of effort to get to vmax which is only about 25mph. My commute is series of sprints from one red light to the next. Great exercise. And it's got hydraulic discs which are fabulous for year-round cummuting.

I too do my London commute on a sturdy mountain bike but it’s an old one with 26” wheels. I keep riding through the winter and the rain, but it’s always a dilemma whether to take the quiet route through the park in the dark or whether to mix with the traffic on the main road! I’m never sure which is the lesser of the two evils...

I used to do the commute on a fantastic old 26 inch wheel steel Diamonback until I broke the frame :-(

In terms of routes over the seven years I've been doing it I've found quite a few well-lit back roads that are ideal for cycling and keeps me away from the worst of it. It means more stopping and starting but I don't mind that. Doesn't work for all journeys of course.

Cracking bike! As you will know it can turn it's hand...sorry wheels...to most things and do them well.
I had a Tuono Factory until quite recently with a very similar spirit, but now I'm on a much more sensible (170bhp?) Honda as I tend to do longer bike journeys at the moment. :D

It was a bit of a compromise as the one before (FZ1S) turned me into a hooligan at only 150bhp. I'd be smiling in my sleep with 170 :D

Here's my little station hack, 2007 Brabus convertible. Awesome for parking and to run it costs pennies but my god is it crap to drive compared to my E63!!! We also have a C220 merc which is being replaced with an ML in the coming months!

Cycling in London will remain 'beyond my bravery threshold' given my nephew has just turned up for Christmas with a cracked rib following last weeks incident where a non de-iced car turn out in front of him and caused £700 of bike damage. He recons a proper hat saved his life.

I also just got the news from the States where one of my former race car designer friends has been killed in a road cycling accident.
Do take care out there!

Now if cyclists by law needed insurance, both him and the car driver wouldnt be out of pocket
At least your nephew is ok

2013 Citroen berlingo 1.6 HDI, love it to Be honest. Best van I’ve owned, don’t miss the car when I’m driving it either. Enterprise model so has all the toys, Bluetooth parking sensors, aux etc

2010 Mondeo Titanium Sport. F&&kimg amazing car for the money....had it from three months old and nothing, nada, ZERO issues ever with it in 80,000 miles. Leagues ahead of my Mercedes when it comes to reliablility. Surprisingly good drive too.
