Question...

My mobile is on it's way out, and recovering contacts from it looks like it's going to prove hard unless I buy another Windows phone...

That said, I don't really want to wait for Windows7 Mobile to come out... and 6 isn't that interesting...

So I'm looking at an iPhone, but as all my contacts are stored "in the cloud" with Microsofts free MyPhone service, I was hoping there's a way to move them over to the iPhone without me retyping them all in...

Any ideas?

Can't you sync them back the other way into Outlook, or export to a CSV file or something?

As an alternative to the iPhone, have you considered the Palm Pre? WebOS is fantastic, and Palm have been bought out by HP (which I see as a good thing). Oh and it also multi-tasks unlike the iPhone (until the iPhone 4 is here - think it's this week? )

If you can get your current contacts into Outlook you can sync it with your iPhone

Just did a quick google search (which I'm sure you would have done anyway)...

Shocked - "There is no way to export any of the data that is stored in My Phone to a CSV file, and there is no feature on My Phone that allows you to move your contacts to any type of device except for a windows mobile phone."

Although that is just the first site I clicked through to.

But if you sync it to a windows Mobile Device you can then sync it into Outlook pretty easilly though surely?

Once it is in outlook its a breeze.

That's what I think I'll need to do... find a spare working windows mobile device, sync MyPhone to that. Then sync that to Outlook. Finally sync iPhone with outlook...

ugh! So much for open standards and information sharing!

A bit of a hijack, but what about transferring contacts from a Blackberry Bold to an iPhone?

BB is linked to an old company's server but is also running personal hotmail, iPhone will be personal with hotmail account only.
