Naffest thing I've ever seen on a car !

Up the road from me is a black Citroen Xantia with a Nurburgring sticker on the boot!

I would rather poke myself in the eye with a rusty barbed nail than drive one of those around the ring....

i think i win, the other day i saw a 1.0 saxo with foil on the wing mirrors (chrome effect!!!!)

NICE!

I put carbon effect foil on the wing mirrors of my old CRX ....

Stood back to admire my handiwork , after hours of smoothing and moulding with a hairdryer ..... and thought WTF am i doing ?

Pulled it straight off, along with a lot of the paint

Spent the next weekend sanding and respraying the mirrors

Saw an old 3 series beemer the other day with a monster back spoiler (like the Hyundai pic on the previous page). Thing was they'd put it on upside down so I would have the effect of lifting the back end up (like a aeroplane wing) rather than pushing it down, made me laugh for a good 10 mins.

Saw a Blue vauxhall nova this morning with very badly scuffed 17's, with bmw centre caps fitted; saw the back of it and it had Cosworth, GSI, Turbo, AMG and Kompressor badges on the back.

I didn't know whether to laugh or cringe...!

Have you noticed that whenever BMW/Audi/Merc bring out a styling mod to one of their cars a few years later it becomes a must-have for any teenage Saxo et al driver!

Angel Eye head lights - BMW
Chrome brushed wingmirrors - Audi

Funnily enough though Ford had 18" smoked chrome alloys (See a 1996 copy of Performance Car magazine) long before BMW fitted them to the E39 M5.

I saw a black CLK320 Avantgarde with an AMG badge on the boot.

Although, to be fair, I have now removed it. ;)

On Saturday I saw a genuinely fantastic looking black E-Class - when it passed me I noticed that it was actually an E320 CDi with full AMG body styling and double exhaust, but badged as:

E320----------------------AMG

After splashing out goodness knows how much for the kit, he probably wanted people to know, but IMHO it would have been better to let the cars good looks do the talking (and the thumping great diesel engine do the torquing) rather than the badge. Each to their own though.

I wonder whether we'll see more like that given the W204 C-Class has the AMG-look bumpers as standard in Sport trim?
