The Prime Minister has just been on television to announce the raised threat level.

John

That is quite concerning. Please be observant and careful people in whatever you're doing and wherever you are going.:(

eta - just coming on the tv as a news flash:(

Very shocking news and concerning indeed however a bit surprising that 2 Mercedes where used for the early bomb attempts

All merc drivers in london are on the met watch now. if this goes on the value will come tumbling

I think what we must accept is that the Security Services are of the opinion that something else WILL happen. I'm not a scare monger and am not trying to exaggarate this assessment but like pammy has said.

Be careful out there

John

I am more scared of the security officers in this situation as well. I know they do a hard job but please we do not need anymore accidents

At the upmost we dont want any casualties really

I note that Liverpool Airport has now also closed down, 'Until further notice'

Glasgow Airport was closed down imediately after this incident.

Hmm, fun at the diana concert tomorrow..
I guess in some ways in should be the safest place in the UK (touches wood)

Keep safe, don't go anywhere you don't have to, or do anything you don't have to. Will make international travel less than fun as well.

Apparently a device has been foud at a Glasgow hospital:(

I was in a hotel less than half a mile from the London attempted car bomb on Thursday night. Was happy to come home last night only for this latest attempt.

Rest of post deleted after advice that it is a potential security risk.

I'm hoping this device is something worn by the arrested suspect, otherwise the ramifications are a major worry.

Someone on another forum says that is the case bit I've not been able to find any more detail as yet.

Seems it was found attached to the casualty when admitted via A&E

Edit: US Dept of Homeland Security has just elevated its alert status for airports although their internal security level remains the same.

Part of me thinks pity they didn't do a controlled explosion before removing it:mad:

That is the suggestion that was inferred on BBC News 24 by Strathclyde Chief Constable in the last 15 minutes or so.

apparently one of the airport suspects has been taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley, which has been subsequently evacuated.

Just been to Heathrow Terminal 4 and its full of police and traffic around the terminal.
