KLP 92 said:Well bad news. I received a letter from the Vauxhall driver's insurance company today. Basically informing me of the fact they are trying to make a claim against me and for my version of events. Will speak to my insurance in the morning and see whats the best way of dealing with them![]()
The insurance company have probably just sent you a standard default letter informing yourself that they wish to make a claim against you without knowing the full facts and hoping you will give in. If you have legal cover then you can just inform your insurance company of the incident and advise that you would like things to go no further and request for a Solicitor to be appointed who will deal with all the litigation (this will not affect your no claims bonus). Its probably going to have to go all the way now to Court unless the claimant’s solicitors see sense and advise to drop the matter at their own discretion. They may try and be clever and ask for an out of court settlement (that’s an old trick…).
