I have a commuter car - a 12 year old Pug 206 1.1. Worth nothing, costs peanuts to run. Leave and dont worry.

You are in danger of getting one you care about and then it has same issues as your main car....

Hmmm. Settlement payment from old job not as high as expected as she will not fight all the way to & through the courts (health related). So extra car unlikely at this time.

£3k buys a one or owner 2004 Arctic blue Mazda MX5 1.8 with 40k on the clock.

I've just bought SWMBO her FIFTH.

Why so old? Because she loves it. Why so basic? Because she loves it. Why so low mileage? Because there are loads around.

And for A road and local usage, it's a great little car - a lovely precise gearbox.

Downsides? It's Mpg is the same as my S500: 27mpg.
