New daily…RS4 B8 vs C63 AMG: Opinions and questions?

C63 in utily form any day!

You will never look back as a daily driver that will put a smile on your face each time you take it out.
Besides...will be the last NA big V8 you will be able to buy that way without the heavy taxes.

I did it for that reason and love it!

I'm very/very/very tempted to buy a C63 (facelift 2012 in utility form) as my new daily driver in 2016… The idea of having a NA 6.2 V8 (with maybe a remap of + 500hp) in my daily car makes my petrol heart beat faster. If I ever want a car with this engine for a reasonable amount of money then I have to do it in 2016. Especially with the law and possibility we have in Belgium to convert the C63 wagon to a utility vehicle. Saving so much money and still have an insane vehicle is such a nice idea…that I don't want to miss this opportunity when it's still possible…and legal.

The 2 things that hold me back slightly are the not so fast gearbox and the fact that I'm not really in love with the chrome and the old men look of the C63… I can live with it, it's not an ugly car…but I don't love it (the look). I also have almost zero feelings for the Mercedes brand….maybe this will grow over time. Maybe I will like the look of the car more if I have removed the chrome (if possible).

I just love that NA 6.2 engine, the sound, the steering feel and the way it drives….so that I can forgive it's slower reacting gearbox (in manual mode).

If people think; what is that guy doing in a retired folks car…is not something I will be bothered by when I drive the car ;) But people will indeed think that and that is the first thing people who know me will ask…"WTF you bought a Mercedes"? That's always my thought when I see someone below 40 driving a Mercedes :) On the other hand…the 6.2 V8 living inside is really not an old people engine...

You can dechrome it.
I know a specialist that can do that for you in Belgium.
(Already checked it for my own car)

And i can also help you with changing it to a utility version.
I had this done to mine aswell.

A c63 will not be looked at as an old mans car...trust me.

Very interested… :) There is a lot of chrome on the car; door handles, window surroundings, front girl, roof bars, etc. Painting the chrome is something that is only temporally and the paint chips of after some highway mileage… I'm guessing the specialist you are talking about will use another procedure…

Still a big fail from Mercedes-AMG that they did not have a shadow line option like BMW, AUDI, etc.

I have already found some people who do this…always good to know more addresses to find the best people to do this nicely and correct.

Thanks! :)
