Big Thanks to Ricky for supplying me with one of these :D

Just got it fitted. It's touching the bumper slightly - which I'd like to try and sort out .... preferably without cutting the bumper. Anybody think this is an issue - or should I just leave it alone ? Don't want the bumper melting on me !!

Cool. VERY nice. Sticks out a lot doesn't it, or perhaps it's the angle?

I am guessing yours is correct as it's an actual w202 part and mine is different as it's a custom fit.

Sorry, couldn't resist........

Yeah - it does stick out a lot - mind you, don't want to be hiding any of that nice shiny chrome under the bumper, do we !! ;)

S.

Dont let it rub the bumper - get the bumper shaped a little.

Or just jump on the tips till they bend. ;-)

looks good but I'd suggest you need to drop it a bit to avoid rattles and the possibility of melting/discolouring the bumper - you may have to cut it if all else fails but at least you should be able to remove that section of the bumper to work on it and repsray it.

Yeah - its just the lower "face-lift" lip that needs some very minor adjustment ... will see if I can do something with it easily, or get a bodyshop to take a look and do a proper job !

As for jumping on the tips, Scott ..... umm... I think not ! :p

Cutting the bumper doesn't have to be your last resort if you don't want to do it.

The guy that fitted welded on different hanger rods (or whatever you call them).

Afterwards he had two conical shaped tools which he aligned the pipes with. It looked quite brutal, but he assured me it was regular practise.

Looking good :D
Does stick out a fair bit...

Am I not seeing right, or have you lost your C200 badge too?

@Graham .... I debadged it over a year ago LOL!

@Ricky ... is it not supposed to stick out so much then - or did you mean it's normal ?

S.

C43 bumper more curved, but here's Koolvin's (same backbox):

Lookin' good Sym! :D

I would go with G.'s idea and get the hangers readjusted so that the tips sit away from the bumper, imho shaping/cutting the bumper wouldn't look right.

How does it sound in comparison to the stock box?

S.

Sym,

I've never seen a proper accessory box fitted before, only C36 modified to fit, but they never sit out that far...Looking at pics of K's car definately isn't quite right.

That's an interesting comparison. There's just enough room on the existing hangers for it to go back a bit further, but that would mean cutting the existing pipe back another couple of inches.

I'll find somewhere that specialises in Exhausts, I think, and see what they suggest.

Steve - no real difference in Sound that I can notice ..... bit of a rumble at idle, but nothing compared to Graham's !!

It is hard to tell. I think the way the bumper is shaped, it will seemingly stick out more that if it were complimented with a C36 Bumper.....

...........but I think it is perhaps a little excessive.

It was obviously worthwhile giving it a go in standard form first though, so nothing lost.

I presume even though it's a w202 accessory part, the pipe had to be cut as the OEM back box and middle silencer are one piece up to the joint at the cats?

I guess this is where there is margin for adjustment.

I can only highly recommend the custom exhaust people I used - Top Gear in Aylesbury.

For comparison, the C43 box on this regular facelift t202 looks pretty tight to the bumper.

Yes - the pipe had to be cut - they didn't want to chop too much off at first, obviously, but it was adjusted several times to get the existing fit - in small increments !

With the height, looking at that picture above, mine really only needs to drop a couple of millimetres. Should be do-able without too much adjustment, I would have thought.

Looks good, although I would agree that it sticks out too far and is too close to the bumper, needs a bit of jiggling.

Looking good m8 :bannana: :bannana:
