i have been asked by my neighbour to remove his passenger door panel on his w124 coupe.

His window is a bit slow these days, and the suggestion is to regrease the the mechanism, but to do so, he would need to remove the door panel.

he removed the triangle cover for the mirror, the two screw holding his seat buttons in and the bolt holding the arm in place... but the panel is really tight, will not budge.. is something else needed to be done?

Any suggestions on the coupe version of the w124

thanks

You should slide the inner plastic bit forward from behind the door release and then undo the chrome bits in the door slam. Then undo the black oval shaped thing nearby (single screw) and then lift the panel upwards (not outwards).

There's a How To somewhere - hold on....

There's a thread here which may assist. http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=31514&highlight=w124+door+card+removal

Before you take it all apart why not try spraying furniture polish down into the window recess when the window is down. Ive used this trick on previous cars and it works a treat.

I think the OP will find that the motor itself will need a strip and regrease.

Not sure I agree about the furniture polish being a long term fix.

Still, the aroma will go well with the walnut dashboard......

I didnt really believe it either but ive now used it on a few slow or sticky windows in other cars and one treatment has lasted for years. I was close to spending around £150 to get my window fixed in my last car before i tried this, kept the car another 3 years and it never gave me another bit of problem.
