Just finished fitting 2 new font style plates (GB ones) onto black backing plates.

These are the plates which virutally all new Merc's come with, and make the car look loads better.

Backing plates = £2 each

8x Sticky pads = 15p each
2x new plates = £17.02

That's exactly what I've got too, looks great doesn't it? :)

The black plate holders were already on my car, and also on my previous car, some dealerships fit them and some don't, when I spoke to Monarch in B'ham they sent some to Vinay for free, just paid postage! I'm told MB Manchester have them too, don't know if they would charge for them.

I was soaked for the sticky things, I paid about £1.50 for each packet I think, that was from halfords.

I didn't pay anything for my licence plates, had them made up by the stealership, I don't mind having their name on the plate, esp as they cost nothing. Anything is better than having licence plates that say LEX VEHICLE LEASING on them! ;)

I would normally demand pics right now, but in this case I'll let you off, I don't post pics of my licence plates either in case someone fancies using them for congestion-charging purposes!

I got new plates mainly because they say 'Robinsons-Mercedes' on them, instead of the name of my local garage, makes me look like I paid more for it :)

Which is also the reason why I changed my plates :) . Looks a lot nicer with the local dealership plates on it, and also the dealership tax-disc holder, and the dealership air-freshener hanging from the ceiling :) .
