A what I hear you say?

No, not a viano...

No, despite the name.. not a van..

I think I've seen maybe two since I've owned it, so don't worry if you've never heard of it. Just fancied something with more space than a berlingo multispace and a bit different from the thousands of zafiras and scenics.

Anyhow, just thought I'd say Hi...

Ian

Welcome to the forum!

However, you are all talk and no pics! I have seen only one vaneo on the roads and if you ever happen to drive on the M62 in W Yorkshire then there is a strong chance it was you! ;)

Got any pics of the beast? :)

lol... was it silver with tinted rear glass? Quite possibly!

I don't have any pics I am ashamed to say, I shall get some done!

I'm in Bolton, and do travel to Leeds on the M62 fairly often...

Don't travel very fast then......

And Southerners think the M25 is busy!!!
:bannana:

I generally travel at daft times to avoid the worst of it, there are worse roads, I also have to drive to Birmingham on a regular basis!

I've seen a few Vaneos, good choice of colour for yours ;)

Hasn't it been dropped by M-B now??

I see a blue one on the A737 in Ayrshire quite regularly , but they are quite 'rare' .

Yeah it's been dropped, sort of replaced in target market by the B class I guess.

We looked at the B (only had this 3months) but it's missing the two best things about the vaneo, the sliding doors and the space. It was bought as something "sensible" as my last car (a very plain octavia estate, with 200+bhp and 4wd) was a bit much as a "first car" for the missus who is learning to drive.

I got one once as a loan car while Edna was being "cared for". I'm still in recovery:crazy: Sorry - but it was the worse car imaginable - hence the reason they don't make it any more it was a big mistake.

But as long as you are happy with yours then that's all that matters.;) Welcome to the forum:D

Everything's relative, it's a family bus not anything "special" but it's quiet, was cheap to buy, is cheap to insure and gets more mpg than my octavia. Copes with 5 of us for holidays etc with ease, there is nothing else this compact that has this much space.

The missus has her driving test next tuesday then it's officially "her" car and I can buy an impractical toy :D

we've got one in the workshop now thats come in as a p/x 1.7cdi 45,000 miles.
they're pretty much a W168 'A' class underneath so parts are pretty realistic too..

oh and yes they're very rare

Welcome to the forum. You did say that despite the name a vaneo is not a van. Trouble is it looks as if it's a van derivative and with a name like that it's easy to think that if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck then it probably is a duck.

Still it'd be a boring old world if we all liked the same thing so if you like it then my opinion doesn't matter a hoot.

Welcome :bannana:
I saw one of those the other day it was dark red I thought WTF...:D
Looked like a tall A class thing, now I know

It's refreshing to hear of someone owning something slightly differet.

Well done and get the camera out.

Regards,
John

Welcome to the forum. :) Don't worry about the jibes, its mostly good natured and people are (all in good fun) mocked on this forum for many of the following reasons, none of which you should take too seriously.

  • Having a SLK (a girl's car).
  • Having non standard alloys (means you're a chav).
  • Having an E or S Class (means you're an old man, or a dictator, or both).
  • Not having a car with at least a 5 litre V8 in it.
  • Having anything other than a W124.
  • Having once looked at a BMW with a view to ownership.
  • Spelling Porsche, 'porch' or 'porche'.
  • Having a car derived from a van.

So don't worry about any of it, enjoy the forum, and have a good time driving your Van E O. :)

You missed out the biggest offence ..................... having a primer coloured car (known to those affected as Silver).
