New V12 Comand APS disk just released

Sorry to resurrect this thread. I have Comand APS Version 9.1 and wondered if I would notice any difference with version 11 or 12? Anyone?

9.1 has a issue where if the car loses power the COMAND won't restart, so I tend to suggest upgrading. If you look on the comand online page theres a list of some of the upgrades of the last couple of releases..

Cheers

Richard

Hi Richard, i have a 2008 S-Class and a new Comand was fitted last week ( under warranty, thank goodness £5,000 + ) due to the Hard Drive failing. Is there a lot of difference in the 2010/2011 disc to the one i have ?

Firstly, I dont beleive there is yet a 2010/2011 disk for your S class which is "NTG3" technology. The Mercedes October list still shows 2009/2010 and there are no notes of new part numbers to supercede that.

My recommendation normally is that you upgrade when you find roads are missing / in the wrong place. Mercedes recommend upgrading every year, but of course they would.

If you look here (hidden shop page) there are some of the changes between some of the version shown, but i've only recently made that page and thus don't have data for the older map disks.

Comand Online Ltd :: Mercedes SatNav/COMAND :: Mercedes Navigation Disks :: Comand APS Map Update for NTG3 in S and CL Class.

Hi Richard i hope you can help me

i currently own a eclass cabriolet 2010. i purchased my car back in april and have what i believe is the command aps NTG4-W212. (is this correct)

a friend of mine has just picked up his brand new 60 plate ecab and his reversing camera on his command unit has guidelines installed when he puts in reverse.

i took my car down to the dealer to see if they could do a sw update but advised me i have the latest sw already installed.

my question to you is, where can i found out when the latest software gets released so i can book my car in and see if the sw update installs guidelines on my reversing camera.

many thanks

Alex

This could be because his is a MY2011 and yours is a MY2010

Do the guideline stay static, or do they move with steering wheel.

If the latter, it is likely there is a new reverse camera system. If not, it is likely to be a head unit feature and thus upgradable from software and SCN coding.

If you look on Mercedes Electronics upgrades, installation and retrofits I will probably start putting it in one of the FAQs there when there is a new release

Kind Regards

Richard

Hi all, new too this forum.

I have a ml320 CDI 2006 i am looking at getting the ' Mercedes Comand aps DVD 2010/2011 v12 A,B,C' will i need an upgrade befor I use it?

many thanks

Darren

I took my W212 - 350 CDi for its first 'A' service today, the dealer told me they would need it for 2 to 3 hours and would include the software update for command while they were doing the service.

When I picked up the vehicle they told me I needed to bring it back for the command update as this will take at least 5 to 6 hours and they cant do it while its on the ramp for service.

anyone know if this sounds correct ?

Is a good 2 hours to update the system. They obviously dont want the car on the ramp sitting there. They could do it in the car park though.
