Hit the wing mirror on the car and basically smashed the housing and indicator therein. Damn damn damn! Just underestimated width of the car slightly!

Glass and motor OK, just the housing and indicator.

Just called the dealer expecting to be told the whole unit needed changing.

Pleasantly surprised. Housing and indicator £78 plus VAT - ready painted in brilliant silver.

Good value I thought.

That is why I love Mercs.

My wife's Renault Scenic had a wing mirror break, not smashed or anything but the bolt that held it on sheared. Anyway turns out you cant get a replacement part and have to replace the whole unit.

Guess how much........... £130

My old Merc A Class - I reversed it out of the garage (very badly) smashed mirror glass and surround. MB Coventry could get each bit required and fitted them.

Guess how much........... £40

Moral of story - if you are going to smash a wing mirror make sure it is on a Mercedes ;)

holy moley thats cheap .....

it's only a moulded piece of plastic a reflector and a couple of L.E.D's...expensive when you look at it like that...

A complete electric mirror with the motor and glass is only £40 for a V Class...now that is cheap!

Hmm , might make up for it being based on a commercial :)

sure does...there are a lot of parts that fit other models from the v-class that are all cheaper if you order it for one of those instead of a 202 etc...for instance the air mass sensor...

I smashed my mirror internals by hitting a car travelling the other way, took it to the dealer and they changed it under warranty. Can complain at that can you :bannana: :bannana:

Now that's cheap ;)
