Yesterday I thought stupidly that as I had a car in the garage I could maybe take it out after a week locked away. How wrong I was. To cut a long story short I got stranded 4ft off the end of my own drive and had to be rescued by a Jeep. My car isn't just bad in the snow it is the absolute worst in the snow. A greased tray would have afforded me more traction than my Michelin clad w203. Back to driving my wife's little Kia-it could climb the Alps!

My 210 is also cr4p.

Possibly the worst car ever made for snowy conditions.

Mines is still not at home as I can get no-where near it.

Think positively R2D2. No salt in the inner wings. No one is going to bump into you. In fact, if this lot keeps up you could put it on a SORN and be quids in!!:D

Lol. you have a point!

Wifey'sbrand new Fiat Panda Eco with the world's skinniest tyres (with nice deep tread) still hasn't noticed it's snowed.

same with the Kia. Its just kept going!

Ditto with Suzy Cute's Ka! Also great for carrying stuff - we once got a 3 seater sofa in the back

W220's seem to be the best 2WD merc for snow from my recent experiments!
My W215's been coping admirably too - as long as I take it easy and anticipate loss of traction it's been remarkably easy to drive even on ice with the TC working overtime

I have just spat out my tea onto my keyboard - LMAO!!!

Also - Border Collies make rubbish huskies.......

lol, my w211 wasnt much better , got it out of the garage ok, took me an hour to get it back in, slipping sliding everywhere, finally after alot of shovelling and a bag of grit, was back in the garage...all ok now the thaw has set in! :)

I never used to like oil burners but after having inherited a 190D I have found it brilliant in the snow. Never been stuck once and yes we have had some decent snow up here.

It's snowing here now - and I was at a company off-site day at an old mill about 1 mile down a single track road (Priston Mill for the locals).

Once it started to settle us RWD divers decided to forgo pudding and head off - only an inch or so of very wet fresh stuff. I was one of the first, but all of the first few of us had some trouble. I did grind to a halt on one slope and had to turn the ARS off, drifted the left a little, and found some traction at the edge of the road. Guy in front was squirming around and stopped at one point and the guy behind suddendly dropped a very long way back a couple of times.

About 15 people are due to be picked up by coach at 10pm!!

I went to pick up my step daughter about an hour ago, parked on the road outside here grandparents house which is a reasonable hill.

Came out 20 minutes later and the car had slid a car length down the hill and out into the middle of the road....
