No sound out of UHI suddenly, please help

Hi Guys,

The BT in the E class has been working fine for the last 3 years. Suddenly, after a valet, there is no sound coming out of the phone. The radio works and the other caller can hear what you say. You just can't hear them.

Is there a seperate speaker for the car kit that might have been dissconnected?

Have you got the system with the bluetooth adapter in the centre armrest that you can dial numbers from the Audio system keypad ?
If so, what does the BT adapter in the centre armrest look like, and is there a curly cable connecting the adapter holder to the glovebox there ?

(Just working out if factory fit or not)

It is the unit that looks like a standard telephone, it was the very first BT modual that Mercedes made which used SAP. To install it we unclipped the Nokia cradle in the armrest and then clipped in the BT phoen system into the unit. (It is not the SLR looking one which I believe came later) I am not sure if you can dial straight from the dash as I have never tried.

Silly question - but are you sure the volume control hasn't been turned down by the valet? It happened to mine once...and I did the valet...
