I am getting a noise when moving the wheel from left to right? It's like a squeak?

Could be any number of things. Check Power Steering level as that is known to cause a variety of strange noises if low. Make sure car is level before checking. Are you able to say where the squeak is coming from? As it could be steering column bushes.

It's in for a service on Saturday so I'll ask them to check then.

It's a squeak when turning from left to right but goes when you do a complete turn?

Sounds louder drivers side?

Might be a "dry" suspension ball joint. Have you tried "rocking " the car up and down on its front suspension to see if you can get the sound to appear?

Did that and no, it's only from left to right?

Could be a loose belt on the power steering pump?
Service should sort that out by retentioning the belt or changing it if its no good.

Is it something that can wait till the weekend? Or needs to be looked at ASAP?

If it is belt squeal then its no biggie, it can wait.
Just sounds annoying!
Normally the belt is under most tension when you're turning the wheels then relaxes when you stop turning, so it will squeal during turning and then shut up when you've stopped turning.
Does this sound like the problem you have?
I wouldn't want to tell you thats it and then its something else.

Sounds like it, I rock from left to right and it's like I'm squeezing a cat:)) then its gone. No change to the car or the way it drives... Just a squeak.. Which is as yousay annoying!

Yeah sounds like belt for sure, they should hear it when you take it in for a service, but tell them to check the belt anyway just to be sure they don't miss it.
It should be fine till the weekend, but don't leave it too long cos worst case the belt could snap if its badly degraded and you'll lose your power steering.
Just to be sure, look for the pulley nearest the power steering reservoir and look at the belt on it, if you can twist the belt half way, then it is the belt for sure. If the belt is cracked of frayed it will need changing, if not they can just tighten it.

Will do.. fingers are crossed!

I'd start by checking the fluid level as well. Should be in the owner's handbook? :)

I would assume that on your car all the ancillaries are driven by a single poly-V belt with an automatic tensioner?

I think so too, I cannot see any wear in the belt so I think the fluid maybe the culprit... looking through the paperwork that came with the car, it was noted about two years ago where the steering made a noise and the fluid was topped up which cured but advised to moniter.

Find out saturday)

It could be the alternator free wheel pulley look down at alternator check 2 see if the fan belt is just slipping if it replace the free wheel pulley on the alternator I've seen it loads of times

ut should be fluid, same problem i had.guess what.when i dropped it for service b ,they did not do anything.then i have topped it and the noise gone since.one of the reasons why i do my own a and b service and repairs too
