Hi, I have a 6210/65310/6310i cradle in my E-Class which I regularly use my 6310i on O2 in the cradle.

If I put in my wife's 6210, the Comad simply says 'the phone is being activated' - can anyone help ro suggest the problem ?

I have checked both phones and there are no obvious settings on either of the phone menu's to check.
Thanks

The cradle that works for the 6210 /6310 and 6310i is B67875822 this will also take the 6150.for the 6310I there was an issue. it would not work in the early cradles, and they brought out the one above, Within a few days I can check mine out on a 6310. the 6210 works well, I bought it on Ebay for £22 as new.

Whats the software version on the 6210 ? Do *#0000# on the phone
- its it a 6210 or a 6210i ? (tell us everything that comes up on the screen)

It is a 6210e on Orange and the code shown from *#0000# is :
V 04.08
20-10-00
NPE-3
(c) NMP.

I was just rying it again in the cradle ad still no joy !!

It may be worthwhile taking it to a phone shop where they will program it to a 6200 without the E, they charge £10 and do it while you wait, that's what I did.

Yes, I think it needs V5 of the software or later, not V4 - so having it flashed should sort it (i.e software upgrade in the phone)

The newer cradles have a sticker on the back telling you the minimum software version

NPE-3 is the 6210 product hardware name, since the only difference between 6210 and 6210e is the software in it (i.e an Orange special)

Cheers

Thank you for explaining that, phones are not my best point, its right what you say though, when I turn on either of my phones, they both flash up Orange, and then go to my network. Is it possible to get a PIN, without one I cant use the steering buttons, though they work from Command.
The phone was given as a pressent and it did not come with a PIN.
Thanks, Malcolm

Richard,

How do I get the softwareon the phone upgraded?

There are many phone shops, not the carphone warehouse type, but the ones who do repairs. When I enquired at carphone, the directed me to a little shop who did it on the spot, he pluged into his computer a 5mins later it was done.
Codes are available from Ebay but there is always the danger that you lock it up after 2 tries.
