Oh dear - 250sl Pagoda poss engine rebuild reqd - Nottingham - any specialists??

Hi everyone - longtime since i posted.....phew...i wish i hadnt fallen in love with these pagodas.....anyway.....cosmetically my car is now 95%...mechanically (and i am no techy) the "big ends and mains" need replacing...does this mean i need an engine rebuild....other than a tune up i've had nothing done to the engine.....anyone know of an independent engineer who will actually take on a classic merc engine near Nottingham...or i could have the engine taken out and shipped somewhere....any advice much appreciated.....damn cars!

Oh yes...would the big ends and mains "going" necessarily justify the expense of an engine rebuild?

Crewe engines are the people for classic merc engine rebuilds. They are near Crewe in Cheshire.

get quote for rebuild than off-shelf replacement i would say, i cannot see them stocking 250 engine also remember saloon engine is the same if u can find one incase it is cheaper
