Anyone have any opinions on the old 190e diesels ?

"Considering" getting one - just as a proper daily runabout which I can just run into the ground - but with good fuel economy, cheap running, etc, etc .....

Great cars. A lot slower than yours of course and they are blo*dy noisy... But great for running about in at smart car costs...

Very reliable, and give 40+mpg. BUT, extremely slow, even by diesel standards. I looked at loads of 190's, although I never got round to buying one. Tried both the 2.0 and 2.5 diesels, and was positively shocked by how sluggish they were. I would recommend taking one for a drive to see if you can live with a car that is quite that slow. At the time, I also thought they were too expensive compared to the petrol versions, but that may not apply any more.

Kinky in a Diesel? When you get one can we all come down to laugh, <cough>

Would you be taking it to a GTG? it may brighten up everyones day. And, I bet you get a dull chrome one too just to spite us :D

Sluggish?? What a load of rubbish! I have the 2.5 diesel in a much heavier car, the 124 estate, it never fails to do 0 to 60 in less than a day!:bannana: :D
